Recovery Care Coaching
LifeSkills Authorities begins the coaching relationship while the client is in
treatment. We strongly recommend that we are included in weekly or bi-monthly telephone updates with the treatment center staff as well as in-person inclusion at the discharge meeting with both treatment staff and the client. This unique approach to recovery coaching and treatment help ensure that we are updated on our client's progress and any issues that develop while in treatment to be best equipped for their return home. This creates a much healthier and open transition from treatment (and aftercare if recommended) to our clients’ work and home lives. The LSA Recovery Coach will accompany the client during travel home to provide additional support.
Following treatment, LSA begins to work with our clientele in the more intense phase of Recovery Care – Crisis Coaching for about 2-4 weeks or longer if needed. This phase provides the newly sober individual with one in-person meeting, 2-3 (30 minute phone sessions) as well as a daily check-in to ensure a stable transition. During this time period, the client begins meeting with their customized Recovery Team of professionals that will foster tremendous support and accountability. Once the client has remained abstinent and demonstrated a positive transition, the Recovery Care Coaching process moves to weekly meetings for the balance of the 52 weeks post-discharge.
The relationship between the addicted individual and their LSA Recovery Coach can be the difference between successful continued recovery and the all too common relapse. One of our goals at LifeSkills Authorities is to have independent validation (a key in truly studying success rates, rather than just a random unscientific claim) to demonstrate that our program (pre-intervention work with loved ones, intervention, family intensives, and LSA Recovery Care and Crisis Coaching programs lasting one year post-discharge) produces unprecedented success rates that are between 80-90%.*
* Independent validation is currently underway to study the program of intervention, appropriate length of stay at a treatment facility for addiction (if deemed necessary), post-treatment LSA Crisis Coaching, and LSA Recovery Coaching.
